PIC-Reader Devices
What is a PIC-Reader
The PIC-Reader is a hardware device based on ESP32-S3, equipped with a camera and QR code reader, designed for employee clock-in. When an employee scans their QR code, the device records the time record and sends it to the server.
Configuring a Device
- Go to the Devices section in the sidebar
- Click Add
- Fill in the fields:
- Name — device identifier (e.g. "Main Entrance")
- Location — installation site
- Device Code — unique identifier
- Status — active / inactive
- Save
Device Statuses

Device Management (Admin)
Assigning a Location
Each device must be associated with a specific location. Clock-ins made on that device will automatically be linked to the location.
Photos during Clock-in
PIC-Readers can take a photo at the time of clock-in. Images are uploaded to the server and associated with the event.
Viewing Images
From the Events section, for each clock-in made via PIC-Reader, you can view attached images by clicking the gallery icon.
Errors and Troubleshooting
Device won't connect
- Verify the device is powered
- Check WiFi connection
- Check the Logs section for connection errors
Clock-ins not arriving
- Verify the device is set as Active
- Check that the assigned location is correct
- Verify the employee's contract (must be active)
Errors visible in Admin
The Mobile Errors section records all anomalies reported by the app and devices. Admins can review the list to identify recurring problems.
Logs and Analytics
The User Analytics section shows mobile app usage statistics, including installed versions. This helps verify that all employees are using an updated app version.
Note: Each PIC-Reader device has an independent log for tracking operations.
